Need help with Medicare questions? Do you know about SHIP?

SHIP is the State Health Insurance Assistance Program, a free and impartial counseling program for people with Medicare. SHIP is provided by the Administration on Community Living and the Indiana Department of Insurance. All SHIP services are free.

SHIP is not affiliated with any insurance company or agency and does not sell insurance. SHIP is staffed by a crew of volunteer counselors who have completed intensive training.

SHIP helps answer your questions about Medicare, Medicare Supplement Insurance, Medicare Advantage, Medicaid, long term care insurance, prescription coverage and low-income assistance.

SHIP’s central office only provides counseling services by phone. However, in-person counseling is offered at local sites throughout the state.
